You need no installation or work done to enjoy our fireplaces.
They are based on the combustion of Bioethanol and don't produce noxious gases or smoke, so they can be used anywhere.
Our fuel is completely clean and approved by current Standards and all our fireplaces are delivered with their own Instruction Manual and Safety Leaflet.
The customer must read and accept these Rules for Use and Safety applicable to Bioethanol fireplaces and burners. It is essential to comply with these rules to prevent any risk of burns or fire. Neither Bio Home Design,S.L. nor any of its representatives will accept any responsibility whatsoever in the event of customer negligence or misuse of Bioethanol fireplaces or burners. It is important for users to know and respect the rules for use and safety detailed below in order to enjoy their Bioethanol fireplace to the full.
Rules for Use and Safety
When your fireplace is delivered, it comes with a User Manual published by the manufacturer.
Regardless of the model you have chosen, you should always place it in a well-ventilated area at least 20 m3 in size.
Do not use the fireplace near inflammable material.
When installing Bioethanol fireplaces we recommend minimum safety distances are respected. The indications below are minimum distances from the flame, if these are not followed, the manufacturer accepts no responsibility in the event of an accident. These distances may vary depending on the model, flame regulation and other factors, such as curtains blown by wind, etc.
The minimum distances are:
If a wall-mounted model is to be fitted on wood, wallpaper or any other inflammable material, it is advisable to fit a fire-resistant panel before installing the fireplace. The fireplace can then be mounted on the panel following the manufacturer's instructions.
Wall-mounted models must not be installed on the floor, as they do not have a proper base to ensure they are stable.
Make sure the fireplace is level, otherwise fuel may be spilled when the burner is being filled.
Try not to fill the burner right to the top, as fuel could be spilled and may catch fire when the burner is lit.
Never refill the burner while it is alight.
If all the fuel has been used, wait about 15 minutes for the burner to cool before refilling.
If there is a spillage while the tank is being filled, never light the fireplace without having first thoroughly cleaned and dried the affected surface. Bioethanol is a highly inflammable product and extreme caution must therefore be used when handling and using it.
Always light your fireplace with a long handled lighter or with long matches, keeping your hand a safe distance away from the flame.
When alight, the steel burner becomes hot. This is normal. Do not touch the burner directly or place it directly on a surface, as it reaches high temperatures and can cause burns.
Your fireplace has been conceived and designed to use liquid Bioethanol. Using any other kind of fuel is forbidden and is not covered by the manufacturer's guarantee. Other products may be dangerous for their toxicity or because they produce solid waste that would prevent the burner from working correctly.
Store the Bioethanol in a cool place and keep out of harm's way. If it is exposed to heat there may be a small deflagration when the fuel is ignited.
Never try to move the fireplace while it is still alight.
Do not throw anything into the fire (wood, paper, cigarette ends, etc.) or use the fireplace to dry washing.
When the fireplace is alight, never leave children unattended or allow them to play with the fire.
If you have had to turn the fireplace off before the Bioethanol has been used up, you must be careful when you relight it, as Bioethanol will have partly evaporated and will be trapped under the burner cover. Leave it to air for a few seconds before relighting the flame. Even so, it is possible that a deflagration may occur. Do not be alarmed, this is a completely normal reaction of the Bioethanol. It is important to light your burner using the lighter supplied or long matches to prevent accidental burns being caused by possible deflagration when lighting. The burner must not be lit if the hands or any other part of the body or inflammable objects are near or on top of the burner slit.
In the presence of heat, the materials in the fireplace may give off an odour, especially when new. They may also make some noises caused by expansion or they may even change colour slightly, and the stainless steel burner may gradually turn darker. These are normal occurrences and should not cause alarm, as they do not affect how the equipment works and do not alter its technical features.
